Welcome!

Welcome to my blog about the Kings and Queens of England. I hope you enjoy the journey through the centuries with me! The first monarch is William the Conqueror. He is the man who started the process of the monarchy as we know it, and so I have written more on him than any of the others. His accession to the English throne was a turning point in English history, replacing the ancient Saxon social structure with the new Norman feudal model which endures to this day in the British class system.
